Just imagine what it would feel like, what it will be like if you were wrongly accused and severely punished for it?
Jesus Christ was not guilty, yet he was beaten, publicly embarrassed and killed.
The perpetrators may have thought they killed Jesus. They may have physically killed him, however, he remains alive in the spirit.
In spite of what Jesus went through, he held no bitterness towards man because he knew he suffered because of the love he has for all human beings. His suffering was on behalf of our sins. In exchange for my sins, and yours too.
It is what you would call the ‘mother of all sacrifice’.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you so much for your sacrifice, help me daily to remember what you went through for me in order for me to think twice before I act. Amen.
1 Peter 3:18 – Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
18 Christ himself suffered when he died for you,
and with that one death he paid for your sins.
He was not guilty,
but he died for people who are guilty.
He did this to bring all of you to God.
In his physical form he was killed,
but he was made alive by the Spirit
