Let it not be said that Nigerians are not talented. In the private sector, Nigerians are known for their diligence, expertise and brilliance. However, in the area of politics (and not governance, because there are some brilliant technocrats who are not politicians working all the hours behind the scene), Nigeria seems to be cursed. And this is the collective responsibilities of Nigerians as a people. Nigerians deserve the leaders they get. When the seemingly educated ones connive with the illiterates, it is a recipe for disaster.
It is so gratifying to read of Hilary Clinton’s open declaration of approval and gratitude to her personal medical doctor who only happens to be a Nigerian. A proud Nigerian, who hasn’t bothered to ‘Americanise‘ his names.
Read what Hilary Clinton had to say below (I want to give a big THANK YOU to my Doctor who travels everywhere with me, Dr Oladotun Okunola. I wouldn’t be here without him! Literally.) – Jide Salu
