Canada’s Immigration website crashed before Donald Trump was declared President-elect.

Crashed Canadian website

Canada’s immigration website has crashed as it looks likely that Donald Trump will become the next US president.

It would appear that Americans are looking to jump ship and live under the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Understandable, really.

The official site which enables people to apply for citizenship and immigration to Canada,, has stopped working as the US election results trickle in state by state – predicting a victory for Republican nominee Donald Trump.

There was a huge rise in people searching ‘how to emigrate to Canada’, presumably by desperate Americans who fear living under a Trump presidency, causing the website to crash.

People trying to access the site were greeted by a long loading page or an error message, rather than the usual application information.
