I remember I was getting ready for my nieces jr. high graduation when I heard he was in the hospital. It was confirmed that he had died when I was walking out the door. I remember I cried like it was my own family member who died and I couldn’t focus on anything, but him. I still cry when I read any article related to his death. My heart is broken and very lonely since he’s been gone. RIP…I will always love you MJ.

When i found out Michael was dead we(my family and i) were at home and we thought it was just a nasty rumor, and i was saying t myself…’well, they’d better stop saying that before it happens… ‘ and then before you know it they had confirmed it on the news, that he was dead and everybody was historically in tears, i mean like we went into a total Michael Jackson withdraw. When I heard the news, I in the doctors office, waiting to be seen and we were all watching the news, when they announced that he was rushed to the hospital with cardiac arrest. I didnt think much of it, because I was sure that he would be ok. Then as I was walking back home, I heard a man yell out of his car window “Michael Jackson is dead!” I said to myself “what an idiot” because I thought he was onen of those MJ haters, I knew he was in the hospital, but there was no way that he was dead.
It wasn’t until I got home and my sister read the news on TMZ’s site, (although even then I still needed further proof) and they announced it on Eyewitness news later, that I could bring myself to believe it. It happened so suddenly. He will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.

I lost my dad at 25 years old – I miss him every day – my heart aches for your children. It’s so sad to hear about Michael Jackson. As a dancer, I’ve performed almost every one of his hits in some form or another. A lot of celebrities have died recently, but he’s the first one that had a big impact on my life personally. It’s a really weird feeling. Anyway, nice post. 😉

The King of Pop is Dead! Pop is dead! Music is dead!This guy had a pretty remarkable life and career.It doesnt get any better! A child start who started singng at age 5 and entertaining soon after that.Having single handedly defined music videos in the 80s with Thriller.Only person to have sold a 100 million copies of his album.Apart from been a fan and my 4yr old daughter also quite taken by the thriller or ‘alien’ video as she calls it.
I duff my hat to him although he had his share of controversies – comestic surgery and child abuse allegations.

I was actually sleeping.. was really tired afterwork, crawled into the apartment at 5:30 and my phone wouldnt stop ringing by 6:30, I grudingly looked at the phone and saw 6 text msgs all of them telling me about Mike’s death.. I sprung up and bam onto CNN all night. I actually cried for him!!

Great pics of MJ. I actually woke up at about 00:30 am GMT, got a call from a friend telling me about MJ’s death . This week has been tiring so I have hardly gone online. Great pictures Jide, I was actually racking my head this morning trying to remember one of his five albums. Looking at your pics I realised it was Dangerous. I think I will go and buy all five on CD as opposed to converting from vinyl to CD. MJ was just an awesome talent, even though he did weird things with his appearance his talent was NEVER IN DOUBT. Even the ridiculous child abuse cases ( which he was FOUND NOT GUILTY) was just NONSENSE. I had this feeling that since he was a child star and worked bloody hard he kind of felt he missed out on his childhood. Its quite sad that we live in an era when INNOCENCE has been completely turned on its head.
Anyway its a sad day but also A DAY OF JOY to celebrate the genius called MJ.
R.I.P MJ your legacy lives on. Your job is done on earth and God has called you. Make sure you do a backslide and boogie down in the heavens. 🙂

MJ has finally ‘Beat it’ & our feelings are ‘Off The Wall’ bc it didn’t matter if he was ‘Black or White’. To some, he wuz a ‘Smooth Criminal’ & dt made him feel sad about ‘The Man in The Mirror’ & dis side of ‘Human Nature’ made him cry ‘Leave Me Alone’. As ‘Dirty Diana’ & ‘Billy Jean’ said, he wuz ‘Bad’, he wuz ‘Dangerous’ but he gave us a’Thriller’ of a time. He may have preferred ‘Ben’ to a ‘Liberian Girl’,…we may never know since he tried to ‘Keep it in the Closet’. A tribute to a man dt will make me say ‘I Cant Just Stop Loving You’ no matter how we ‘Pretty Young Things’ cry. I know he’s ‘Gonna Be Starting Something’ in heaven wia he’ll continue to ‘Rock with You’ for Eternity. Adieu!!! MJ 4Life…..

was on my way from Newwark Int’l Airport and tuned in the radio to hear paramedics were at his place and then as the minutes progressed he wassaid to be in a coma and then declared dead

I was so tired yesterday that I slept off as soon as my head hit the pillow!Woke up at 11p.m to see people writing sturves like oh MJ,why Mj…bladdy bladdy bla MJ…decided to google it myself and “bang”…I read the news…couldn’t put on the TV yesterday ‘cos I just didn’t want to cry…he was my hero at some point in time…
Regardless of how messed up people may think his life was at the end…He made impact…he came, he saw and he conquered…

It’s so very sad. I had just gotten home when we switched on CNN and heard he was taken to the hospital. When I read “cardiac arrest” I knew in my heart he would be dead. I stayed by the TV until 1 am when they said he was dead.
It’s very strange because no less than a week ago hubby and I were discussing him and I bluntly said I thought he wasn’t going to live much longer that I am surprised he was still alive. The feeling of the loss is much greater than I expected. I feel so sorry for him that he could never get the decent life that he needed. That he was such a lonely man who never got to experience such a trivial thing as going to the grocery store. He was the greatest and will live on forever through his priceless music. There cannot be another one like him as he made the music world the way it is today. I also think we lost our MJ quite some time ago when he lost himself. As a dancer he always inspired me and he has affected millions with his touching songs. At least, he is finally at peace. Rest in peace MJ.

his music transceds generations. even my 4yr old niece is such a fan.
‘michael the pop star’was greatest. ‘michael the person’ had issues, but he was only human, i can only imagine how his family feels.
the pics are so heart wrenching.
i woke up at 12 midnight to find bb pings saying he had a cardiac arrest and a text that he was dead, before rushing to the news channels. so i guess i was lying in bed when i heard michael died.
